Kugel Mesh Class Action Settlement

A settlement has been reached in the class action relating to certain mesh hernia repair products with the brand names Kugel, Composix Kugel, Modified Kugel or Ventralex. The lawsuit alleged that these products contained rings that could break or buckle causing complications.  The defendants deny the allegations and they were not proven in court.

Patients who were implanted with these products and have suffered injuries may be entitled to compensation. Please go to Stevensons LLP’s Kugel Mesh class action website for more information.

A settlement approval hearing has been scheduled for November 8, 2013 at 10 AM at the courthouse at 130 Queen Street West in Toronto. You may be able to make submissions at the hearing if you are affected by the settlement. You may download a PDF of the settlement agreement, or contact our office to get a copy.  If you approve of the settlement you are not required to do anything. If you want to make submissions you must send written submissions to our office by November 1, 2013.
